The Engelsberg Volunteer Fire Brigade in the Traunstein district is celebrating its 150th founding anniversary in 2026 – the brigade was founded around 1876. The anniversary is being celebrated with a large-scale festival spanning nine days, involving the entire community of Engelsberg.
The program combines tradition and entertainment: It begins with a lively "Kübelspritzenparty" with DJs, followed by a cabaret evening with the Brettl-Spitzen, the "Hopfen- und Traubenfest" with a live band, a fire brigade vintage car meeting with a family day and "Gstanzlsingen" (traditional sung verses), and a festive Sunday with a church service and "Bierzeltstimmung" (beer tent atmosphere) with the Andreasbläser.
A Celebration for the Entire Community
Fire brigade anniversaries are among the major social events in a community in Upper Bavaria. The 150th founding festival of the FF Engelsberg honours the voluntary commitment of generations of firefighters and also serves as a meeting point for clubs, patron fire brigades, and guests from the entire region.
150 Years FF Engelsberg — edition 2026
From July 4th to 12th, 2026, the Engelsberg Volunteer Fire Brigade will celebrate its 150th anniversary with a nine-day festival. The opening on Saturday, July 4th, is dedicated to the Kübelspritzenparty with DJs Febration, wesh, and XANDER starting at 8:30 PM. On Thursday, July 9th, the Brettl-Spitzen will provide a cabaret evening (doors open 6:30 PM, start 8:00 PM). Friday, July 10th, features the Hopfen- und Traubenfest with the band RotzFrech (from 6:00 PM). On Saturday, July 11th, the 2nd Engelsberg Fire Brigade Vintage Car Meeting (10 AM–3 PM) will attract visitors with a family program, followed by a memorial service (6:30 PM, cemetery chapel) and "Gstanzlsingen" starting at 8:00 PM in the festival tent. The closing event on Sunday, July 12th, is the festive church service at 10:00 AM, followed by "Bierzeltstimmung" with the Andreasbläser.
