Triathlon and lived inclusion at Schweinfurt's Baggersee
The MainCityTriathlon is part of an entire endurance sports weekend at Schweinfurt's Baggersee: On Saturday, the MainCityRun is on the agenda, and on Sunday, everything revolves around the triathlon. Competitions are held over the amateur sprint distance and the Olympic distance on a largely traffic-free cycling and running course around the lake.
A hallmark of the MainCityTriathlon is its lived inclusion: With the D-A-CH Championship in Para-Triathlon over the sprint distance, Schweinfurt hosts the determination of the best para-athletes from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Hobby athletes, competitors, and para-sports stand side-by-side as equals β around 3,000 active participants and spectators shape the weekend.
Schweinfurt is located on the Main River in Lower Franconia, Bavaria, and is known as an industrial and bearing manufacturing city. The Baggersee on the outskirts of the city, with its swimming course in the lake and low-traffic cycling and running routes, offers an ideal backdrop for the triathlon.
