In December 2025, Mahlsdorf invited people to its own large neighborhood Christmas market for the first time — and surprised everyone: around 2,500 visitors came to the grounds of the BSV Eintracht Mahlsdorf club. Angel stilt walkers, fog, glittering lights, mulled wine, Santa Claus, a program put together by local initiatives — Mach-Mit-Kitas, the sports club itself, the Kiezmacher CDU Wuhletal, and the support association of the Mahlsdorf volunteer fire brigade. A repeat in 2026 is firmly planned after the success. Mahlsdorf — the eastern district in Marzahn-Hellersdorf — finally has its own Advent market, beyond the larger center events in Hellersdorf and Marzahn.

Following the successful premiere in 2025, a repeat of the Mahlsdorfer Weihnachtsmarkt is planned for 2026 on the grounds of BSV Eintracht Mahlsdorf. The exact date in December 2026 has not yet been officially confirmed, but it is expected to be an Advent Saturday, similar to the previous year (December 20, 2025). Mulled wine, handmade goods, Santa Claus, angel stilt walkers, and glittering lights are expected again on the Am Rosenhag sports field, Melanchthonstraße 53, 12623 Berlin-Mahlsdorf. Free admission.

A second edition of the Mahlsdorfer Weihnachtsmarkt is being prepared for December 2026 on the club grounds of BSV Eintracht Mahlsdorf. A Young Market, Already a Tradition

In December 2025, a large Christmas market for Mahlsdorf took place for the first time on the Am Rosenhag sports field (Melanchthonstraße 53) — organized by four dedicated actors from the neighborhood: Mach-Mit-Kitas, BSV Eintracht Mahlsdorf, Kiezmacher CDU Wuhletal, and the support association of the Mahlsdorf volunteer fire brigade. Around 2,500 visitors came — a number that confirms to the initiators that Mahlsdorf needs the market. A second edition is planned for 2026.

Club Grounds as an Advent Space

The grounds of BSV Eintracht Mahlsdorf offer an unusual Advent backdrop: a sports field, a club hut, a parking lot — no historic city center romance, no market square with a town hall. Precisely this became its strength. Strings of lights stretched across the sports facility, fire pits provided warmth, a DJ played Christmas and pop music, and angel stilt walkers moved among the stalls. Santa Claus distributed sweets, and face painting was free.

Mahlsdorf — Neighborhood in East Berlin

Mahlsdorf is a classic outer district of Berlin: lots of single-family homes, lots of greenery, train connection via the S5 from the main station, U-Bahn connection at Mahlsdorf station in Karlshorst. Until 2025, the district had no large Christmas market of its own — the Christmas markets of the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district were concentrated on the Marktplatz Center Hellersdorf and Alt-Kaulsdorf. With the new market at BSV Eintracht, Mahlsdorf is catching up.
