About Mäuerlesfest
Mäuerlesfest — edition 2026
Hocketse 2026 at the Wine Press House
On Friday, July 31, 2026, Grafenberg invites you to the Mäuerlesfest around the historic wine press house. The Swabian Hocketse tradition finds its typical expression here — visitors sit at long tables, on low walls and seating areas ("Mäuerle"), enjoying Maultaschen, Schupfnudeln, Bratwurst, and Swabian classics. Reutlingen wines complement the culinary offerings.
In good summer weather, the festival takes place outdoors around the wine press house; in case of rain, it moves inside the wine press house itself. The local clubs operate the catering stands. A cozy, club-oriented atmosphere far from the mega-festival vibe — a typical Swabian summer festival.

Swabian Hocketse at the Wine Press House
The Mäuerlesfest is one of the traditional summer Hocketse events in the municipality of Grafenberg — a small Swabian community on the Swabian Jura (Albtrauf) in the Reutlingen district. On Friday, July 31, 2026, locals and guests will gather around the historic Grafenberg wine press house for a cozy get-together with wine and Swabian specialties.
Grafenberg Wine Press House as Festival Backdrop
The Kelter — a historic wine-growing building in Grafenberg — forms the center of the festival. "Mäuerle" is the Swabian diminutive form of "Mäuerchen" (little wall) and refers to the low walls and seating areas around the wine press house where festival visitors can take a seat. In good weather, the festival takes place outdoors around the wine press house; in case of rain, it moves inside the wine press house itself.
Swabian Specialties and Reutlingen Wines
The local clubs — music association, sports club, fire department, rural women's association — operate the catering stands. Swabian classics dominate: Maultaschen, Schupfnudeln, Bratwurst, Saitenwürstle, Flammkuchen, Käsknöpfle. Accompanied by wines from the Reutlingen wine-growing region — the region produces traditional red and white wines on the steep slopes around Reutlingen, Metzingen, Neuhausen, and also Grafenberg.
Live Music and Cozy Atmosphere
Background music plays at the catering stands, often with live contributions from regional bands or folk music groups. The atmosphere is deliberately cozy and "Hocketse-like" — visitors sit at long tables, meet friends, chat, and eat. It is not a concert festival, but a classic Swabian summer festival with a club character.
Grafenberg on the Swabian Jura (Albtrauf)
The municipality of Grafenberg, with its approximately 2,800 inhabitants, is located on the northern edge of the Swabian Jura (Albtrauf) in the Reutlingen district. It is a traditional Württemberg municipality with active club life, a historic town center, and a wine-growing tradition. The Mäuerlesfest is one of the most important club festivals of the year, bringing the entire community together around the wine press house in the summer.
