Four days of flower show, stage program, and Day of the Oschatz Clubs in the O-Schatz-Park — June 25 to 28, 2026
The Little Garden Show Oschatz was first held in 2009 and has since become the largest and most important event in the small North Saxon town. It does not take place every year — the 4th edition in 2026 follows the 3rd edition from 2023. In years without the garden show, the classic Oschatz Town Festival takes place in the city center. In 2026, the town festival merges with the garden show: from June 25 to 28, the O-Schatz-Park on the outskirts of the city transforms into a four-day festival mile. The venue is the entire O-Schatz-Park area around the event hall «das O», which was created on the grounds of the Saxon State Garden Show 2006.
The highlight of the garden show is the flower show in the event hall «das O», which becomes a flower hall for the four festival days. Florists from the entire region — North Saxony, the Leipzig Lowland Bay, Dahlener Heide — present artistic floral arrangements, themed gardens, wreaths, and bouquets. The hall is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. In addition, there is a Green Classroom in the park with workshops for school classes and families — topics such as pollinator insects, wildflower meadows, raised beds, and herb cultivation.
A packed program runs on two stages on all four days: dance groups, choirs, bands from the region, gymnastics displays, a bird of prey show, scything championships, and the mascot meeting (an unusual tradition loved by families: mascots from various sports clubs, companies, and towns meet and dance together). On Saturday, the «Day of the Oschatz Clubs», the Oschatz clubs — from sports clubs to carnival clubs — present themselves. Local bands like «Die Unkomplizierten» perform. The celebration continues until midnight on this day. The opening on Thursday features the Saxon hit singer Uta Bresan.
There are accompanying events outside the park: a choir concert in the St. Aegidien town church (one of Saxony's most important Neo-Gothic church buildings), a vintage car rally with historic cars and motorcycles through the surrounding area, and expert gardening talks in the park. The vendor mile offers regional producers, florists, garden supplies, a plant market, and handicrafts.
Oschatz is located between Leipzig and Dresden in the North Saxony district, on the historic Via Regia trade route. With around 15,000 inhabitants and an 800-year history, Oschatz is the largest district town in southern North Saxony. The town is known for St. Aegidien church, the Vogtshaus (one of Saxony's oldest Romanesque stone houses), and the double exhibition Burg und Stadt Museum. The Little Garden Show is Oschatz's most important tourist magnet and a legacy of the successful Saxon State Garden Show 2006.
From June 25 to 28, 2026, the 4th Little Garden Show Oschatz will take place. On the former grounds of the Saxon State Garden Show 2006, the O-Schatz-Park transforms into a four-day festival mile with a flower show, two stages, talks, a vendor mile, and a bird of prey show.
Highlight: The event hall «das O» becomes a flower hall. Florists from North Saxony, the Leipzig Lowland Bay, and Dahlener Heide present artistic arrangements. Day of the Oschatz Clubs on Saturday with performances by local bands. Free admission.
