Classical Meets Sea of Candles

The Offenbach Festival of Lights is a classical open-air event with a distinctive hallmark: as dusk falls and the park fills up, around 40,000 candles and lights are lit at 7 PM – a magical moment that transforms the park into a flickering sea of lights. The main musical program begins at 8 PM.

The Capitol Symphony Orchestra

The Capitol Symphony Orchestra (CSO) is the resident orchestra of the Offenbach Capitol Theater and specializes in crossover concerts: classical compositions meet rock, pop, and film repertoire. The program combines, for example, Beethoven with the Beatles, Mozart with Metallica, Brahms with the "Das Boot" soundtrack – a dramaturgically sophisticated concept that appeals equally to dedicated classical fans and newcomers.

In Büsingpark

The venue is Büsingpark in the heart of Offenbach's city center – a historic landscape park with old trees, offering the ideal setting for a nighttime classical concert. The staging with 40,000 lights makes the experience postcard-perfect romance.

Admission from 5 Euros

The Festival of Lights is affordably priced: admission from just €5 – making it one of the cheapest classical open-airs in the Rhine-Main region. Fine wines and specialties from local restaurants and clubs complement the experience culinarily.

One of the Largest Classical Open-Airs in the Region

With thousands of visitors annually, the Offenbach Festival of Lights is one of the largest classical open-air summer concerts between Frankfurt, Mainz, and Aschaffenburg.

About Büsingpark

Büsingpark in Offenbach's city center dates back to the banker Wilhelm Büsing and was laid out as a landscape park in the 19th century. Today, it is a listed monument and considered the green heart of Offenbach. With old trees, a large meadow, and the adjacent Büsing Villa, it provides the ideal setting for a nighttime classical concert.

Capitol Theater Offenbach

The Capitol Theater is Offenbach's private theater and has been a cultural flagship for decades. It not only operates its own venue but also the Capitol Symphony Orchestra – a format that combines classical joy of playing with popular accessibility.
