The traditional Volksfest on the Waitzinger Wiese in Landsberg am Lech
The Landsberger Wiesn is the traditional Volksfest (popular festival) of the town of Landsberg am Lech in Upper Bavaria. It takes place on the Waitzinger Wiese and spans two festival weekends in June with a multi-day break in between.
On the fairground, visitors can expect entertaining rides, a festively decorated festival tent, and typical festival specialities. The musical programme ranges from brass band music to Schlager to party sounds. A fireworks display is one of the visual highlights.
The Wiesn is traditionally opened with the cry »O'zapft is!« during the ceremonial beer tapping. The two-phase festival concept – two weekends with a break – is a special feature that gives the Landsberger Wiesn its unique character.
