Landsberg Christmas Market

Advent in one of Bavaria's most beautiful old towns

The Landsberg Christmas Market is one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Upper Bavaria. The setting is the historic old town of Landsberg am Lech (District of Landsberg am Lech, State of Bavaria, Upper Bavaria administrative region) – with its gates, towers, and the town hall by Dominikus Zimmermann, it's one of the most impressive townscapes in the Pfaffenwinkel region. The market is spread across five central squares: around the town parish church, the pedestrian zone, the main square, the Rossmarkt, and the Infanterieplatz.

Around 80 stalls full of crafts

Approximately 80 vendors offer handmade decorations, nativity accessories, sparkling jewelry, wooden ornaments, ceramics, honey and beeswax products, as well as baked goods. Culinary offerings include mulled wine, bratwurst, and candied almonds. Two charity huts run by local associations at the Rossmarkt collect donations for good causes.

Festive opening and program

The opening features a performance by the Stadtjugendkapelle (Town Youth Band), the mayor welcomes guests, and the Christkind reads the prologue from the historic town hall window, followed by the joint switching on of the Christmas tree lights on the main square. During the market period:

• Performances by several brass bands and music ensembles on selected evenings
• Choirs on several evenings
• Visit from St. Nicholas in early December
• Advent songs by local primary schools on Mondays
• Children's parade and carousel for the youngest guests

Special days for seniors (Mondays) and families (Tuesdays) with discounts at marked stalls complete the offering.
