About Christmas Market Baden-Baden
Christmas Market Baden-Baden — edition 2026
The Baden-Baden Christmas Market 2026/27 runs from Thursday, November 26, 2026, to Wednesday, January 6, 2027. The organizer is Baden-Baden Events GmbH. Admission is free. With over six weeks of market duration, the Baden-Baden Christmas Market is one of the longest-running Advent markets in Germany — a tradition owed to the international clientele of the Belle Époque spa town.
Throughout the six weeks, around 100 decorated stalls are set up in the Kurgarten, along with an illuminated fairy tale lane, a nativity scene exhibition, heated igloo huts, and the Sky Stage with daily live concerts. Classical music, jazz, choral singing, Schlager — the program changes daily. A children's bakery, guided market tours, and artistically illuminated stained-glass windows at the Kurhaus complement the offerings.

Plan a wellness visit to the Friedrichsbad or Caracalla Spa — the Belle Époque atmosphere is incomparable in Advent.
Belle Époque and Advent Magic
Baden-Baden is one of Europe's most famous spa towns and was recognized in 2021, along with ten other European spa towns, as a UNESCO World Heritage site “Great Spa Towns of Europe.” At the heart of this Belle Époque setting is the Kurhaus from 1824 — one of Germany's oldest spa houses, with a neoclassical colonnade facade and the Kurgarten behind it. When the lights turn on at the end of November, this Kurgarten transforms into the Baden-Baden Christmas Market — a shining highlight in the festival calendar of Middle Baden for six weeks.
Six Weeks of Advent Light
The unusually long market duration — from November 26, 2026, to January 6, 2027 — is a special feature of Baden-Baden. While most German Christmas markets close on December 23rd, the Christkindelsmarkt in Baden-Baden runs until Epiphany, January 6th — a commitment to the international clientele of the spa town, who also spend Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day here.
A Market with an Experiential Character
- Decorated Stalls in the Kurgarten — around 100 stalls with arts and crafts, gift ideas, regional specialties
- Märchengasse (Fairy Tale Lane) — an illuminated avenue with scenes from classic fairy tales
- Nativity Scene Exhibition — historical and contemporary nativity scenes from the Black Forest and around the world
- Illuminated Stained-Glass Windows — artistic installations on the Kurhaus building
- Igloo Huts — cozy, heated glass igloos for mulled wine and conversations
- Himmelsbühne (Sky Stage) — live concerts with classical music, jazz, Schlager, choral singing
Children's Bakery and Guided Tours
A special feature of the Baden-Baden market is the children's bakery: young visitors can bake cookies here under supervision and take them home — a highly appreciated offering that is fully booked every weekend. In addition, the event team offers guided tours of the market: history, architecture, customs — an in-depth experience for tourists who want to know more.
International Visitors
Baden-Baden traditionally attracts an international audience — Russians, Arabs, Asians, and of course, Western European visitors. This diversity is reflected in the Christmas Market: signs are often multilingual, and the gastronomic offerings range from Black Forest cherry cake and mulled wine to chestnuts and gingerbread, as well as Mediterranean specialties. Those visiting Baden-Baden in Advent should combine their day with a visit to the Friedrichsbad, the Caracalla Spa, or the Casino Baden-Baden.
Opening Hours
The market is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with special hours on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve (11 a.m. — 3 p.m.) and on New Year's Day (1 p.m. — 9 p.m.). On Epiphany, the last market day, the market opens from 11 a.m. — 6 p.m.
