Summer Concerts in the Courtyard of the Thon-Dittmer Palace
The Palazzo Festival takes place in the courtyard of the Thon-Dittmer Palace on Haidplatz – right in the middle of Regensburg's Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Renaissance courtyard is considered one of the most beautiful of its kind in Bavaria and impresses with excellent acoustics, enabling intimate open-air concerts under the stars.
For several evenings, the festival unites a deliberately broad program: Italian singer-songwriter pop (including with Pippo Pollina), soul, funk, and R&B evenings, Irish-Scottish folk, boogie woogie and swing, classical summer serenades by the Regensburg Chamber Orchestra, Bavarian cabaret (Mathias Kellner), Udo Jürgens and Bob Dylan tributes, as well as gypsy jazz and Cuban son music. Each evening has its own profile – classical music meets soul, funk, and world music.
KulturAgentur Alex Bolland has been organizing the Palazzo Festival since 1998. Over the years, it has grown from a hidden tip into an established cultural summer highlight, attracting music lovers from Regensburg, the Upper Palatinate, and far beyond.
The covered courtyard, framed by arcades, creates a special concert atmosphere: close to the artists, with seated audiences and summer evening ambiance in the historic city center of Regensburg in the Upper Palatinate.
The 2026 festival edition runs from July 28 to August 9 in the courtyard of the Thon-Dittmer Palace on Haidplatz in Regensburg. Each evening (starting at 7:30 PM) features a different program: Italian singer-songwriter pop with Pippo Pollina, a Ladies Night with Steffi Denk, Lisa Wahlandt, and The Divettes, a soul, funk, and R&B evening with Gerwin Eisenhauer's band, Irish-Scottish folk, boogie woogie and swing with Adam Hall's Australian sextet, the "Festive Summer Serenade" by the Regensburg Chamber Orchestra, an evening with Mathias Kellner, and a Udo Jürgens tribute "UDO", plus gypsy jazz, Cuban son, a Bob Dylan tribute, and the Italian trio Salato.
