About Kygo Open Air Mönchengladbach
Kygo Open Air Mönchengladbach — edition 2026
Kygo at the Lower Rhine for the First Time
The 2026 open-air show marks a special stop on Kygo's summer tour: the concert in Mönchengladbach is one of the Tropical House star's few German open-air dates. The SparkassenPark, with its grandstand arrangement and excellent acoustics, offers the ideal stage.
The show is expected to include hits like "Higher Love" (with Whitney Houston vocals), "It Ain't Me" (Selena Gomez), "Lose Somebody" (OneRepublic), and "Firestone" (his breakthrough single). Kygo typically performs a mix of DJ set and live piano interludes, complemented by a visual stage show with LED walls and lighting effects.

Tropical House on the Lower Rhine
Mönchengladbach, a city of around 261,000 inhabitants and an independent city in the Düsseldorf administrative district, will be the venue for one of NRW's biggest open-air shows in the summer of 2026: on Saturday, August 8, 2026, Norwegian DJ and producer Kygo will perform at SparkassenPark. The star, born Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll in 1991 in Bergen, is one of the world's most famous exponents of the Tropical House genre – a variant of Electronic Dance Music characterized by warm synthesizer sounds, smooth saxophone lines, and relaxed tempos.
23 Billion Streams and Global Hits
Kygo has accumulated over 23 billion streams in his career. His biggest hits include "Higher Love" (feat. Whitney Houston, 2019) – a Tropical House cover of the Steve Winwood classic that became one of the decade's most successful summer hits – as well as collaborations with Selena Gomez ("It Ain't Me"), OneRepublic ("Lose Somebody"), and Sigrid ("Stay"). His debut album "Cloud Nine" (2016) established him as one of the most important producers of Tropical House.
SparkassenPark as an Open-Air Stage
The SparkassenPark in Mönchengladbach-Rheydt, located at the Hockeypark, is one of the premier open-air concert venues in North Rhine-Westphalia. With a capacity of around 17,000 to 20,000 spectators per concert (depending on the setup) and excellent acoustics due to the grandstand arrangement, it offers the ideal stage for open-air shows by international headliners. Over the years, artists such as Sting, Robbie Williams, Iron Maiden, Ed Sheeran, Roger Waters, and James Blunt have performed here.
Doors Open 6:00 PM, Show 8:00 PM
Doors open at 6:00 PM, giving visitors ample time for security checks, purchasing drinks, and settling in. Support acts will be announced by the organizer in spring 2026. Kygo's main show starts at 8:00 PM. Based on experience, Kygo performs live sets lasting 90 to 120 minutes, featuring DJ performance, live piano interludes (he is a classically trained pianist), and a visual stage show.
