Revival after Seven Years

The Kulturtage Wiesbaden-Bierstadt are back in 2026. After a seven-year hiatus, Bierstadt's clubs and initiatives are once again organizing a two-month district cultural festival – featuring 14 individual events between May 8 and July 4, 2026. The format is deliberately decentralized: concerts, readings, tours, workshops, and family programs are spread throughout the entire district.

Double Anniversary as an Occasion

An important reason for the revival: In parallel, the Bierstadt Volunteer Fire Brigade and the Bierstadt Carnival Club (CVB) are each celebrating their 125th anniversaries. This brings together three anniversary occasions that put the district's club life in the spotlight.

Opening with Jacques Brel

The Kulturtage will open on May 8, 2026, with a Jacques Brel concert in the 'Bären' gymnasium. The Belgian chansonnier fits well with Bierstadt's tradition of twinned cities with France: Bierstadt maintains a close partnership with Terrasson-Theux in the Périgord region of southwestern France.

Culinary and Musical Program

The diversity is great: On May 9, there will be a May singing event with local specialties, on May 16, a cooking workshop with Périgord specialties from the twin town of Terrasson, on May 29, a Swinging Concert with jazz and Latin music, and on June 19, a Cello Duo playing rock and pop covers. For children, the premiere of the children's musical Ariella will be held on June 14. The closing event on July 4 will be a special exhibition with readings celebrating the anniversary of the Bierstädter Zeitung.

Education and Nature

The program also includes educational and nature-focused formats: two story cafés about the district's history, two guided tours (through Bierstadt and the historic Aukammtal valley), an educational tour at the Ginger Learning Garden on June 7, and a family tour of the Bee Nature Trail on June 20 in an apothecary garden.
