Three Districts, One Month of Culture

The Kulturtage AKK is one of the oldest and most enduring district cultural festivals in the Rhine-Main region. Since 1999, the Initiativgruppe Kulturtage AKK (Organizing Group for Kulturtage AKK) has organized an annual festival in the three Wiesbaden districts of Amöneburg, Kastel, and Kostheim – a geographically peculiar island east of the Main River that has belonged to Wiesbaden since 1945, but still shares Mainz's postal code (55) and telephone area code.

28th Edition from August 21 to September 20, 2026

The 28th edition runs from August 21 to September 20, 2026, with over 50 events spread across four weeks. The format is decentralized: concerts, exhibitions, readings, cabaret, historical district tours, and workshops take place in galleries, community centers, courtyards, churches, schools, and public spaces.

Diverse Program

The music program ranges from Tango to Barbershop and Latin rhythms, to Rock and Blues. The exhibitions are spread across several galleries and artist studios. Historical district tours explore the special history of the AKK districts – influenced by the Main River, but administered by Wiesbaden.

Opening Reception with Wine and Sparkling Wine

The Kulturtage will be opened on Friday evening with a festive reception featuring wine and sparkling wine – a ritual that emphasizes the close connection to the regional wine culture (east of the Rhine, near Rheinhessen). The program then kicks off at the various venues in the three districts.

Registration and Funding

Cultural groups and associations can submit program proposals to the organizing group by March 31, 2026. The Kulturtage are funded by the City of Wiesbaden, the City of Mainz, and the local district councils of the three districts.
