75th Edition — Rheingau Wine in the Home of Hock
Hochheim am Main is wine history: The English term "Hock" for German white wine is derived directly from the town's name — Queen Victoria loved Hochheim wine so much that the town gifted her one of its most famous vineyard names (Königin-Victoriaberg). Today, Hochheim is the eastern spearhead of the Rheingau wine region and home to top winemakers like Künstler, Schloss Reinhartshausen, Domdechant Werner, and many smaller family businesses.
In 2026, the 75th Hochheim Wine Festival will take place — an anniversary that the town will showcase: Special exhibition on the festival's history since the 1950s, new program modules, and a specially staged opening ceremony. Date: July 10th to 13th, 2026.
The opening will be on Friday, July 10th, by the Rheingau Wine Queen and the Hochheim Wine Majesties. The reigning Hochheim Wine Queens 2025/26 are Pauline Warzecha, Alma Schriewer, and Emma Luisa Walther — they will guide through the festival weekends, serve wine, and host stages. During the opening, the new Hochheim Wine Queen 2026/27 will also be crowned.
The venues are Hochheim's city center and the vineyards above the town. 26 wine stands, 15 open courtyards of local wineries, plus 8 stages with over 30 live acts in the genres of Rock, Pop, Blues, and Schlager — the festival concept is generously designed and spread throughout the entire city. In Hintergasse, artists and artisans will set up their artists' alley — a beloved Hochheim tradition.
The official Hochheim Wine Festival glass costs approx. €3. The proceeds go directly to the stage and music program — therefore, admission can remain free, and the live music can still be of high quality.
Like every year, the Hochheim Wine Festival concludes with a grand firework display, launched from the vineyards above the town: Monday, July 13th, 2026, approx. 10:30 PM. The pyrotechnics against the backdrop of the vineyards are one of the most beautiful summer fireworks in the Rheingau — a very deliberate staging of the location.
Classic four-day structure with a festive opening by the Rheingau and Hochheim Wine Majesties on Friday evening, highlights on the weekend, and a firework finale in the vineyards on Monday.
