Where private courtyards become concert stages – neighbourhood festival with stamp hunt and vintage car shuttle
Biebrich, Wiesbaden's largest district, is located directly on the Rhine – with a palace, palace park, and a historic old town where countless private courtyards and inner courtyards are hidden behind the facades. It is precisely these hidden spaces that open up during the Biebrich Courtyard Festival: for one weekend at the end of May, private courtyards become concert stages, discotheques, and wine gardens. This makes the festival unique – you discover corners of Biebrich that are otherwise hidden behind gates.
From Friday, May 29th, to Sunday, May 31st, 2026, the Courtyard Festival will be held for its 21st edition. A total of 20 bands, musicians, and DJs will provide the musical backdrop – with a range from rock and pop to jazz and electronic music. Participating courtyards are marked with large orange flags.
The Courtyard Festival opens on Friday evening with a Salsa opening concert in the Karpfenhof – the only event that requires a ticket. All other courtyards and stages are free to access.
Two trademarks make the festival special: A restored vintage bus from the 1960s with table seating runs in a loop through the district – Friday 6–10 PM, Saturday 4–10 PM, free for all visitors. And the stamp hunt: Visitors collect stamps in the participating courtyards and enter a prize draw. New in 2026: a dedicated children's stamp hunt for ages up to 16 with age-appropriate prizes.
Accompanying events include flea markets in several courtyards and guided tours of the district. Antenne Wiesbaden – the local radio station – is present with its own live stage. This creates a neighbourhood festival that covers the entire spectrum from intimate concerts in private courtyards to large open-air stages.
From Friday, May 29th, to Sunday, May 31st, 2026, Biebrich will open its private courtyards for the 21st edition of the Courtyard Festival. Participating courtyards are marked with large orange flags.
