Six weeks of Christmas market in the historic half-timbered old town with illuminated city walls — one of the most atmospheric Advent events in the Eifel region.
The WinterZauber Christmas Market Bad Münstereifel is one of the most atmospheric and longest Advent experiences in North Rhine-Westphalia. From November 20 to December 30, 2026, the historic half-timbered old town of the Eifel city transforms into an illuminated Advent world. The concept: not a classic market square Christmas market with wooden stalls, but a staging integrated into the entire old town — fairy lights in the alleys, illuminated city walls, Advent decorations on every facade.
What sets the WinterZauber apart from other markets is the stage: the medieval old town of Bad Münstereifel with its half-timbered facades, intact city walls, and narrow alleys is one of the best-preserved medieval old towns in the Rhineland. This backdrop is staged as an Advent village for six weeks:
The WinterZauber is closely linked to the City Outlet Bad Münstereifel — one of Germany's best-known outlet centers, which has revitalized the historic old town with brand shops since 2014. Several special shopping events complement the market:
The WinterZauber Christmas market is open daily during the six weeks:
This makes the WinterZauber one of the few Advent markets that reliably offer opening hours during the week — ideal for day trips from Cologne, Bonn, or the Ruhr area.
Bad Münstereifel is a town of around 17,000 inhabitants in the Euskirchen district (North Rhine-Westphalia) — a spa town on the western slope of the Eifel. The historic old town with its half-timbered facades, completely preserved city walls, and four city gates is one of the most impressive medieval towns in North Rhine-Westphalia. Since 2014, the city center has been revitalized by the City Outlet Bad Münstereifel with its brand shop concept, attracting millions of visitors annually. The WinterZauber is one of the biggest event highlights of the year.
The 2026 WinterZauber combines a continuous Christmas market with special shopping events. The opening on Thursday, November 20, 2026, marks the start of a six-week Advent period that lasts until December 30, 2026.
