Urban Beach on the Isar
For years, the Urbanauten have been transforming the area around the Vater-Rhein-Brunnen at the Ludwigsbrücke into a summery urban beach. Sand, loungers, a stage, and a diverse cultural program bring a holiday feeling to the city center – with free admission and views of the Deutsches Museum and the Isar.
Cultural Program All Summer Long
Throughout the entire season, from early May to mid-September, there will be live music, DJ sets, and cultural formats. The highlight is the M-net Hofkonzerte on twelve Wednesday evenings featuring local artists from Munich and the surrounding area.
Flea Market, Sports, and Family
Every second Sunday, the Kulturstrand flea market takes place – a meeting point for second-hand treasures and encounters focused on sustainability. In addition, there is a sports area with balance boards and slacklines, as well as children's and family activities.
Sustainability and Getting There
The Kulturstrand focuses on tree protection, daily site cleaning, and insect-friendly lighting. It is easily accessible by tram and bus (Deutsches Museum or Ludwigsbrücke stop) and by subway (Fraunhoferstraße or Lehel).
