Afternoon concert at Charlottenhof Klanxbüll in North Frisia — regional folk music with coffee and cake
The Charlottenhof in Klanxbüll is an exceptionally active cultural and conference center at Germany's northernmost edge — a few kilometers from the Danish border, within sight of the Hindenburg Causeway to Sylt. Klanxbüll itself is a small community of around 700 inhabitants; the Charlottenhof hosts a dense program of events here throughout the year — concerts, readings, theater, open stage, cabaret, KulturKaffee afternoons.
The KulturKaffee is one of Charlottenhof's most popular formats: an afternoon concert starting at 2:30 PM, in a relaxed coffee house atmosphere, with coffee and cake served during and after the concert. The artists are usually regional bands or solo artists from Northern Germany, often with a connection to North Frisian or South Jutland traditions.
The band MORINOS is a Northern German folk ensemble with an acoustic setup — guitar, vocal harmonies, occasional other instruments. Their pieces range from classic folk (Irish/Scottish) to North Frisian songs and their own arrangements. At a KulturKaffee afternoon at Charlottenhof, they offer the ideal blend of acoustic warmth and singalong appeal.
Klanxbüll is located in the far northwest of Germany, in the district of Nordfriesland (Schleswig-Holstein), on the B5 federal highway and the railway line to Sylt. The Hindenburg Causeway — the famous 11 km long railway bridge across the North Sea mudflats to Sylt — begins a few kilometers west of Klanxbüll. The atmosphere of the North Frisian marshland (wet meadows, hedgerows, expansive skies) gives the Charlottenhof its special ambiance.
On June 7, 2026, at 2:30 PM, Charlottenhof Klanxbüll welcomes the folk ensemble MORINOS for a KulturKaffee — a format where concert and coffee house atmosphere blend seamlessly. MORINOS will perform an acoustically arranged program with multi-part vocal arrangements and pieces bridging folk, pop, and North Frisian traditions.
