Open-air concerts by the Schramberger Kulturbesen on the Szene 64 grounds — Brass Night and Goldplay.live (Coldplay Tribute) in the Black Forest
The Schramberger Kulturbesen is a cultural institution in the town of Schramberg in the Rottweil district — a program initiative that shapes Schramberg's cultural landscape throughout the year with concerts, cabaret, readings, and theater. The Sommer Open Air is the Kulturbesen's annual open-air format: two or more concert evenings on the Szene 64 open-air grounds on Geißhaldenstraße. In 2026, the Open Air will take place on July 24 and 25 with a brass night and the Goldplay.live tribute show.
The Blechabend (Brass Night) begins at 6:30 PM with the brass formation Fättes Blech and several local bands. Brass sound ranging from brassband funk to polka brass to film music brass arrangements — a format that transforms the open-air grounds into a brass festival mile. Local bands from Schramberg and the Black Forest join in, providing a program that lasts the whole evening. Food and drinks are available throughout.
Goldplay.live is one of Germany's best-known Coldplay tribute bands. Four musicians — Dirk Hoppe (vocals, piano, acoustic guitar), Markus Schmidt (electric guitar, backing vocals), Willy Wagner (bass, backing vocals), Martin Werner (drums) — perform the Coldplay repertoire so faithfully that even tribute skeptics will be convinced. Starts at 8:30 PM, doors open at 7 PM. The open-air grounds offer the atmosphere of a small festival — open stage, with a light show, without stadium distance.
The Szene 64 open-air grounds, in the Geißhaldenstraße area of Schramberg, is an open-air venue used by the Kulturbesen with a stage, lighting, and catering area. Its location on the outskirts of town with a forest backdrop creates a festival atmosphere that cannot be offered by inner-city venues. Weather-dependent — in case of very bad weather, indoor facilities or alternative dates will be used.
Schramberg is a town in the Rottweil district with around 21,000 inhabitants, located in the heart of the central Black Forest. It is primarily known as the location of the Swiss watch factory Junghans and for its Auto and Watch Museum. The town is nestled in Black Forest valleys, serves as a starting point for hikes (Schiltachtal, Tennenbronner Hochmoor), and boasts a surprisingly vibrant cultural scene for a medium-sized town. The Kulturbesen is one of the pillars of this scene.
The 2026 edition combines two very different programs: Friday is dedicated to brass music in its modern, festive form — Fättes Blech mixes funk, polka, film music, and pop adaptations. Saturday brings Coldplay classics in a faithful tribute arrangement by Goldplay.live.
