Bavarian festival weekend by the Stadtmusik in the H.A.U. industrial park
For 18 years, the Stadtmusik Schramberg 1830 e.V. has been organizing its annual Oktoberfest — creating one of the largest and most popular festival weekends in the Schramberg event calendar. The venue has for years been the Gewerbepark H.A.U. on the outskirts of town — a former industrial area that is transformed into a Bavarian-themed festival tent landscape for the weekend.
Founded in 1830, the Stadtmusik Schramberg is one of the oldest music associations in the Black Forest — almost 200 years of tradition. With an active youth orchestra and main ensemble, it is one of the city's defining cultural institutions. The Oktoberfest is its financial and festive cornerstone of the year, involving dozens of club members, helpers, and families.
The program follows the classic Oktoberfest dramaturgy:
Detailed hourly schedule and final acts will be published by the Stadtmusik shortly before the festival weekend on stadtmusik-schramberg.de and on social media.
Classic Bavarian and Swabian specialties are served in the festival tent: Hendl (roast chicken), Haxn (pork knuckle), Weißwurst (white sausage), Brezn (pretzels), Obatzda (cheese spread), along with Swabian classics like Maultaschen (dumplings) and Spätzle (egg noodles). Typically, beer from the Schramberger Brauerei brewery or Hofbräu Festbier is served in Maßkrugs (liter steins). Traditional attire — Lederhosen and Dirndls — is welcome but not mandatory.
With just under 21,000 inhabitants, Schramberg is located in the Rottweil district at the transition from the central Black Forest to the Swabian Jura. The town is known for its watchmaking industry (Junghans), Hohenschramberg Castle, and the famous "Da-Bach-na-Fahrt" (run-down-the-stream race) during Carnival. The cityscape is characterized by the five surrounding castles and the narrow valley landscape in the Schiltach valley.
From September 26th to 28th, 2026, the 18th edition of the Stadtmusik Schramberg Oktoberfest will take place in the Gewerbepark H.A.U. The event will open on Saturday at 5 PM with the traditional tapping of the keg and will conclude on Monday evening with the newly introduced craftsmen's supper.
In the festival tent, the main ensemble and the youth orchestra of the Stadtmusik Schramberg will perform one after another, complemented by invited brass and party bands from the region and the Allgäu. The Bavarian menu featuring Hendl, Haxn, and Weißwurst, as well as Swabian classics, will be served in generous portions.
