The 2026 edition features a diverse stage program over three days. The two main stages alternate between DJs, cover acts, and live bands. During the day, there is also a family program with a play street, bouncy castles, and carousels.

Summer festival by the Schladitzer Bucht
Rackwitz, a municipality north of Leipzig in the Nordsachsen district, is located directly on the edge of the Schladitzer Bucht — a former open-cast mine lake that has become a popular recreational area for the city. The Krebsbachfest, named after the local stream, has been the municipality's biggest summer event for years, attracting thousands of visitors from the northern greater Leipzig area each year.
Two stages, three-day format
The festival runs for three days — Friday, Saturday, Sunday — on the Podelwitz festival grounds. Two main stages host a mixed program of DJs, cover bands, and live acts. The selection ranges from rock-pop classics to Schlager and party music, with the mix deliberately kept broad to appeal to all generations. A Sunday finale with comedy rounds off the program.
Family festival on the festival grounds
While the main stages dominate the evenings, the Krebsbachfest is a classic family festival during the day: a play street for children with bouncy castles, carousels, and craft activities, regional gastronomy with bratwurst, fries, and fish dishes — the latter fitting for its lakeside location — as well as recreational activities focused on movement and sports. Local clubs present themselves.
Free admission, community festival in transition
Remarkable: Despite prominent artists, admission to the entire festival is free. The Krebsbachfest is financed through gastronomy, sponsoring, and municipal funds and explicitly sees itself as a Bürgerfest (community festival) — a model that has become rare compared to many commercial summer festivals. The Rackwitz municipal administration organizes the event together with local partners.
