Day festival for punk, rock, and grunge at Kuhlmann's Farm
The Kraetzeval is conceived as a day festival: one stage, one farm, five to six bands, from afternoon until deep into the night. The venue is Kuhlmann's Farm on Todtenhauser Dorfstraße in the Minden district of Todtenhausen, a quiet location on the edge of the Wiehengebirge. The farm itself, with its barn, meadow, and woodpile, gives the festival its unmistakable rural character — tickets from advance sales, bratwurst from the embers, beer from the region.
The musical profile is clearly defined: loud, honest, guitar-heavy. Punk, Rock, Grunge, a dash of Hardcore, occasionally a foray into Stoner or Garage. Over the years, bands from across the DACH region have played at Kraetzeval, supplemented by international acts. The organizers maintain good connections with the Ostwestfalen scene and regularly bring upcoming hopefuls to Minden.
Behind Kraetzeval is the initiative Mikro Minden, a loose association of music enthusiasts who have been keeping the alternative concert scene in Minden and its surroundings alive for years. Without them, Ostwestfalen-Lippe would be significantly poorer in terms of live music beyond the mainstream. Kraetzeval is their annual highlight — driven by volunteers, with tight budgets and great dedication.
At Kraetzeval, you won't find a sophisticated festival industry, but a focused audience from Minden, the Minden-Lübbecke district, and all of Ostwestfalen-Lippe, who come for the music — and the encounters. Clothing styles range from band t-shirts to leather jackets, but nobody pays attention. Those who have been here once usually come back.
Minden is the district town of Minden-Lübbecke in the north of North Rhine-Westphalia, where the Weser and the Mittelland Canal intersect. The waterway junction and the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Schacht are the tourist anchors — while the subculture can be found on farms like Kuhlmann's, in the rooms of the BÜZ community center, or at concerts by the Mikro Minden initiative.
The 13th Kraetzeval on June 21, 2026, continues what the festival has stood for since 2011: loud guitar music off the mainstream, a rural venue, and an audience that comes for the music. The venue is again Kuhlmann's Farm at Todtenhauser Dorfstraße 12 in Minden-Todtenhausen.
As with previous editions, the festival day unfolds on one stage with several slots, from afternoon until late at night. Headliners and order will be successively announced by the organizers shortly before the date.
Genres: Punk, Rock, Grunge, with overlaps into Hardcore, Garage, and Indie. One stage, slots from afternoon until deep into the night. Further acts and specific start times will be announced by the festival management in advance on kraetzeval.de and Facebook.
