Tip
The classical evening on Friday (Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie) usually sells out first. If you're flexible, plan for Brings on Saturday — it's considered the atmospheric highlight.
Five Genres, Five Evenings, One Stage
The Mindener Kultur-Sommerbühne is the open-air highlight of the Minden late summer. On the Kleiner Domhof, right next to the venerable Mindener Dom, the organizers from Minden Marketing GmbH set up an open-air stage for five consecutive evenings every year. In 2026, the series runs from August 26 to 30.
2026 Program — Curated Genre Quintet
This year's selection is deliberately broad, combining renowned names with family-friendly formats:
- Wednesday, August 26 — Nils Landgren
The Swedish jazz trombonist is an international star. He brings his "energetic concert with rousing arrangements" to Minden — a mix of jazz, funk, and soul that is his unmistakable style. - Thursday, August 27 — Timon Krause
The European mentalist presents his spectacular show with illusions and psychological experiments: "Reading minds, influencing decisions, and making the impossible possible." - Friday, August 28 — Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie
The renowned symphony orchestra performs a classical open-air concert under the motto "Summer – Sun – South" — opera, operetta, and international classical music. - Saturday, August 29 — Brings
The Cologne rock band brings their program of "emotion, humor, and passion" to the Minden stage — Kölsch rock with sing-along moments. - Sunday, August 30 — Pippi Longstocking Rock Play
Family-friendly festival finale with the rock play about Astrid Lindgren's famous heroine — music, action, and interactive entertainment for children and parents.
Kleiner Domhof — An Unusual Stage
The Kleiner Domhof is a historic square in the heart of Minden, framed by the architecture of the cathedral and the old town houses. The acoustics are surprisingly good for an open-air venue, and the atmosphere is intimate — not every open-air concert venue has such a strong historical backdrop.
Minden — The City at the Weser Gorge
Minden is located in the extreme north of North Rhine-Westphalia in the Minden-Lübbecke district, where the Weser breaks through the Wiehengebirge mountains and a famous waterway junction (Mittellandkanal over the Weser) can be found. The city was an important bishopric for centuries (hence the cathedral) and is now the cultural center of the Mindener Land region.
Advance Ticket Sales Start in April
