Four Concerts in Two Venues

The town of Trebbin, located in the southern Teltow-Fläming district, has become an unexpected cultural destination in recent years — and the Concert Summer is the culmination of this development. Four orchestral concerts between May and September 2026 in two venues: the Clauerthaus Trebbin (a 19th-century Neoclassical townhouse) and the Kulturscheune Thyrow (a converted agricultural barn in the Thyrow district). Both locations boast excellent acoustics and an intimate setting, bringing large ensembles close enough to feel every nuance.

May 23 — Brandenburg State Police Orchestra

The season opens on May 23, 2026, with the Brandenburg State Police Orchestra performing alongside singer and composer Atrin Madani. The program "Cinema for the Ears" features film music from seven decades of Hollywood and Bollywood — a symphonic journey through the soundscapes of Korngold and Williams to contemporary composers.

June 21 — Brandenburg State Youth Choir

On June 21 — the Day of Music — the Brandenburg State Youth Choir performs with the program "Through Night and Wind". The title quotes Goethe's famous verse ("Who rides so late through night and wind?") and represents a program that combines romantic choral literature with contemporary a cappella works. The State Youth Choir brings together the best voices from Brandenburg, aged between 16 and 27.

July 24 — Wandsworth Philharmonic Orchestra

An international highlight: On July 24, the Wandsworth Philharmonic Orchestra from South London stops in Trebbin during its tour. Since the 1980s, this semi-professional orchestra has cultivated a repertoire ranging from Romanticism to contemporary British music (Vaughan Williams, Britten, Elgar). Concerts in Trebbin are rare — this opportunity is worth the journey, even from Berlin.

September 11 — Organ Concert with Joachim Thoms

The series concludes with organist Joachim Thoms on September 11. His program "Big Cinema — The Slightly Different Organ Concert" provides a unique finale to the season's opening film music concert: famous film themes, from Star Wars to Schindler's List, transcribed for the grand organ — film music in a soundscape that no symphony orchestra can replicate.

Trebbin and Thyrow — Getting There and Tips

Trebbin is located about 35 km south of Berlin in the Teltow-Fläming district and can be reached in about 40 minutes via the RB 22 train from Berlin Hbf. The Thyrow district has its own train station on the same line. By car, both locations are accessible via the A 10 motorway or the B 101 federal road. Tip: Before or after the concert, a stroll through Trebbin's historic town center with its late Gothic St. Mary's Church is recommended.
