10th Anniversary of the Verdieck Foundation's 'Culture for All' Program, Kultursommerpreis 2026
The Verdieck Foundation is a civic cultural initiative in the Harburg district, based in Buchholz in der Nordheide. Since its establishment, the foundation has been committed to promoting cultural education and improving cultural participation for all population groups.
The 'Culture for All' program was launched in 2016 and celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2026. The program has a clear goal: to make culture accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of social status, educational background, or financial means. Concerts, readings, exhibitions, workshops, and theater performances have been offered over the past 10 years – often free of charge or at very moderate prices, with a special focus on families, the elderly, people with disabilities, and the socially disadvantaged.
The jubilee event will take place as a single event on Saturday, August 15, 2026. The date, in the middle of high summer, utilizes the holiday season for an event intended to bring families and generations together.
The award of the Kultursommerpreis 2026 honors the long-standing work of the Verdieck Foundation. The motto 'New Paths of the Cultural Summer' is realized in a special way through the anniversary: 10 years of experience in opening up new access to culture, reaching new target groups, and establishing new formats.
The work of the Verdieck Foundation demonstrates that cultural participation is a societal task. High admission prices, educational barriers, and social obstacles can deter people from enjoying culture. The 'Culture for All' program aims to break down these barriers and experience culture as a shared societal asset.
The 2026 edition is a special jubilee edition of the Verdieck Foundation. 10 years of the 'Culture for All' program provide an occasion to look back together with the many supporters, partners, and beneficiaries and to set new impulses for the coming 10 years.
The award as a Kultursommerpreis project underscores the importance of the foundation's work for the cultural landscape of the Harburg district.
