Three days of neighbourhood festival with live music, food, awards for the most beautiful garden, free entry
What began in 1988 as an initiative by the residents' association is now one of Leverkusen's most popular neighbourhood festivals: the Koloniefest in Erholungspark. In 2026, the Bürgervereinigung Kolonie II und III Wiesdorf / Manfort e.V. will celebrate its 39th edition — proof of how deeply the festival is rooted in the Wiesdorf and Manfort districts.
The format is classic: opening on Friday evening with live music, Saturday offers the most extensive programme with family activities, live music, and food throughout the day, Sunday winds down relaxedly with a morning pint (Frühschoppen), children's entertainment, and the traditional award ceremony for the most beautiful garden in the colonies.
The „Kolonie II und III“ is a historically developed quarter between the Leverkusen districts of Wiesdorf and Manfort — originally laid out as workers' housing for the Bayer works, today it is a vibrant neighbourhood with active community life. The Erholungshauspark on Nobelstraße is the green heart of the quarter and ideally suited as a festival site with trees, meadows, and paths.
The independent city of Leverkusen lies between Cologne and Düsseldorf on the right bank of the Rhine and is primarily known for the Bayer group and the Bundesliga football club Bayer 04. Despite its industrial character, the neighbourhood life in its various districts — from Opladen to Wiesdorf and Manfort — remains vibrantly alive, supported by clubs, residents' associations, and neighbourhood festivals like the Koloniefest.
From Friday evening to Sunday evening, the Bürgervereinigung Kolonie II und III Wiesdorf / Manfort invites you to the 39th edition of the Koloniefest. Live music, food stalls, children's activities, and the traditional award ceremony for the most beautiful garden in the colony make this festival a regular fixture in the district's calendar.
Free admission. Food and drinks at moderate prices, which benefit the association's work.
From Leverkusen Mitte station, take city train line 4 or 18 to "Wiesdorf-Mitte", then a 10-minute walk into the colonies. By car, take the A1 or B8, then follow signs for the Wiesdorf district.
Friday, June 26th from evening, Saturday, June 27th all day, Sunday, June 28th from morning to evening. Detailed programme on lust-auf-leverkusen.de and the residents' association's Facebook page.
Free for all programme items. Food and drinks and some activities at moderate prices.
Don't miss Sunday morning with the Frühschoppen and the award ceremony for the most beautiful garden — this is the emotional highlight of the festival.
