One of Europe's largest jazz festivals — 47th edition in November 2026 in Leverkusen
The Leverkusen Jazz Days have been among Europe's leading jazz festivals since 1980. What began as a smaller event by the city of Leverkusen has developed over the years into a three-week festival with around 25,000 visitors per edition. The festival is part of the cultural life of the entire region — Cologne, Bonn, Düsseldorf, Wuppertal — and attracts guests from home and abroad every year.
The 2026 program once again brings together world-class acts: Gregory Porter (Soul-Jazz), Al Di Meola (Guitar legend), Avishai Cohen Trio, Asaf Avidan, Melody Gardot, Level 42, Mare Nostrum with Paolo Fresu, Candy Dulfer & Band, and the Henrik Freischlader Band. Also pop stars like Angelo Kelly & Band (Nov 13) and Annett Louisan (Nov 18), as well as world music classics: Jan Garbarek, Walter Trout, Leo Kottke (Nov 21) and Tom Gaebel.
The festival is spread across several venues in Leverkusen. Forum Leverkusen is the main stage for the big acts (Gregory Porter Nov 4, Asaf Avidan Nov 5, Melody Gardot Nov 11, Level 42 Nov 13). The Erholungshaus in Wiesdorf offers more intimate concert settings (Al Di Meola Nov 2, Avishai Cohen Nov 3, Mare Nostrum with Paolo Fresu Nov 9). The Scala (Leverkusen) hosts concerts starting at 8 PM (Henrik Freischlader Nov 8, Angelo Kelly Nov 14, Triosence Nov 18). Special event on August 29, 2026: Candy Dulfer & Band at "The Park 2026" in Schloss Morsbroich.
Leverkusen is located on the Rhine between Cologne and Düsseldorf, in the district bordering the Rhineland. Besides Bayer 04 Leverkusen, the city is primarily known for its Jazz Days — they are the city's most important cultural showcase and are recognized far beyond North Rhine-Westphalia.
The 47th edition of the Leverkusen Jazz Days presents a diverse program: from traditional jazz (Avishai Cohen Trio, Mare Nostrum with Paolo Fresu) to soul (Gregory Porter), funk (Candy Dulfer), and pop (Level 42, Asaf Avidan, Melody Gardot), as well as classics (Jan Garbarek, Leo Kottke, Walter Trout, Tom Gaebel).
The festival spans almost four weeks — a deliberately broad temporal spread that brings together several concert genres and artist tour schedules under one festival umbrella. Tickets are available from several providers (Reservix, Eventim, Köln Ticket).
