Saarland Summer Fair

The Kirmes Wallerfangen is the annual village fair of the municipality of Wallerfangen in the Saarlouis district. Traditionally, it takes place in July – at the height of the Saarland summer, often with warm evenings and long days.

What you'll find at the fairground

Classic Saarland folk festival program:

• Amusement stalls: shooting gallery, lottery stall, candy stand
• Festival tent with live music in the evening
• Snack stands: Bratwurst, steak, fries, Schwenker (Saarland specialty)
• Draught beer and soft drinks

Wallerfangen – Nature Park Village on the Saar

Wallerfangen is located directly on the Saar river and is part of the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park. The municipality with almost 9,000 inhabitants has a remarkable history: until 1929, the Wallerfangen stoneware factory was located here, whose manufactory shaped the townscape. Today, a museum and the annual ceramics market recall this tradition.

Border with Lothringen

The French border is only a few kilometers away – many people from Lothringen come to the Wallerfangen Kirmes. The atmosphere is therefore slightly bilingual, and beer is ordered in German and French.
