Kärwa in Wörnitz

The Kirchweih Wörnitz is the traditional church consecration festival of the municipality of Wörnitz in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia, in the Bavarian state of Bavaria. It is celebrated on the fourth weekend of October – from October 23 to 26 in 2026 – and is organized by the Wörnitz Rural Youth.

Customs and Conviviality

The Franconian Kirchweih – or "Kärwa" for short – commemorates the consecration of the local church and is one of the most important village festivals in the region. In Wörnitz, the young people of the Rural Youth organize the festival: they manage the festival operations, provide music, catering, and the convivial gathering that extends over several days.
