Franconian Kirchweih Customs
The multi-day Kerwa combines church traditions with exuberant festival atmosphere. The fixed program includes the festival service in the Trinity Church, a grand procession with music and historical vehicles, the festival dance by the KWG at Paradiesplatz with brass music from the Weißenbrunn Music Association, and the traditional »Jungferkättl«, who taps beer from her »bosom« during the procession – a humorous custom of the Franconian Kerwa.
Bierdorf Classics
A special attraction is the appearance of the Oldtimer Club Kronach, which presents historical vehicles under the motto »Bierdorf Classics«, supplemented by an open tractor meet. Weißenbrunn is known as a »Bierdorf« (beer village) for its brewing tradition.
Community and Tradition
The Kerwa is the most important social event of the year in Weißenbrunn: it brings together locals, former residents, and guests from all over the Frankenwald and stands for living village community, music, dance, and Franconian hospitality.

According to the announcement by the Kirchweihgesellschaft Weißenbrunn (KWG), the Kerwa 2026 will take place from September 21 to 25 at Paradiesplatz. Highlights include the festival service on Sunday in the Trinity Church – musically accompanied by the Music Association, soloist Carina Holzmann, and the KWG – the grand procession in the afternoon with music and historical vehicles, including the traditional »Jungferkättl«, the KWG's festival dance at Paradiesplatz with brass music from the Weißenbrunn Music Association, and the appearance of the Oldtimer Club Kronach under the motto »Bierdorf Classics« with an open tractor meet. The KWG will announce the complete hourly program before the festival.
