Family afternoon of the Dettenhausen associations on the Fronlachwiesen
The Children's and Family Festival Dettenhausen is a jointly organized association festival that takes place annually in September on the Fronlachwiesen — the central festival grounds of the municipality, just behind the DRK local association building and next to the youth center. Numerous local associations are co-organizers, with their members each managing a stand or activity:
For four hours, everything revolves around families with children. As expected, the program includes hands-on stations, games and skill courses, face painting, craft activities, a bouncy castle, a rally, and demonstrations by the participating associations. The DRK typically shows first-aid exercises and lets children explore an ambulance. The Freie Narren provide entertainment with games and a festive atmosphere. Other associations — sports, music, fire department, school — present their work.
On the festival grounds, coffee, cake, sausages, fries, and drinks will be offered — provided by the associations, who run the stands with their volunteers. A perfect late summer Sunday for families from Dettenhausen and the surrounding area.
Dettenhausen, with around 5,500 inhabitants, is a municipality in the Tübingen district, located in the heart of the Schönbuch Nature Park — one of the largest contiguous forest areas in Baden-Württemberg. Its location between Tübingen, Böblingen, and Stuttgart makes it a quiet residential community with a strong club life. The Fronlachwiesen are the central festival grounds on the outskirts of town, ideal for open-air family events.
On Sunday, September 20, 2026, the Fronlachwiesen will transform into a lively family playground for four hours. From 12 PM to 4 PM, the DRK Local Association Dettenhausen, Freie Narren e.V., and other associations will run their stands and activities — a great opportunity for families from Dettenhausen and the surrounding area to get to know the club life of this Schönbuch village.
As in previous years, the focus will be on hands-on stations such as a bouncy castle, skill courses, face painting, and crafts. The DRK will offer first-aid demonstrations for the youngest and allow them to explore an ambulance — always a highlight for children. Catering will include coffee, cake, sausages, fries, and drinks.
Detailed program and current stand list will be published on dettenhausen.de shortly before the festival.
