Kerwe 2026 in Schrollbach – Palatinate Kirchweih in the 600-year-old Westrich village of the Bruchmühlbach-Miesau municipality in mid-August.
The Kerwe Schrollbach is the traditional Kirchweih (church consecration festival) of the Schrollbach district in the municipality of Bruchmühlbach-Miesau in the Kaiserslautern district. From August 14th to 17th, 2026, the four-day Kerwe will be celebrated – a central date in the annual calendar of the Westrich community.
Schrollbach looks back on an over 600-year-old village history. This long tradition is part of the community's identity and is regularly addressed during the Kerwe in the Kerwerede (Kerwe speech) and the village presentation. The historical depth gives the Kerwe a special accent.
Like many villages in the Westrich region of the Palatinate, Schrollbach celebrates its Kerwe as a central club festival. The local clubs – sports club, fire department, possibly singing club – are responsible for catering, program, and setup. The festival is the social highlight of the community and a meeting point for former residents from the entire region.
The Schrollbach Kerwe is celebrated over four days: Friday opening with barrel tapping and the first dance evening, Saturday festival operations with live music, Sunday main Kerwe day with Frühschoppen (morning pint), lunch, Kerwe parade, and festival evening, Monday family day with reduced prices and the Kerwe burial late in the evening.
The Kerweborsch – unmarried young men of the village – are organizationally involved in the Kerwe. The Kerweparrer (Kerwe pastor) delivers the satirical and humorous Kerwerede on Sunday, which comments humorously on the year's events. The Kerwestrauß (Kerwe bouquet), artfully decorated, is the symbol of the Kerwe.
The menu features Palatinate classics: Saumagen (pig's stomach stuffed with meat and potatoes), Bratwurst (fried sausage), Leberknödel (liver dumplings), Schwenkbraten (grilled pork neck), fries, and Schmalzgebäck (fried dough pastry). Draft beer and Palatinate wine accompany the festival weekend. On Sunday afternoon, the women of the parish serve coffee and homemade cake.
The 2026 Schrollbach Kerwe continues the centuries-old tradition. For four days, Palatinate customs and club life will characterize the festival grounds in the historic Westrich village.
The exact 2026 program will be published by the organizer in early summer. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
