A Festival for 500, Not 50,000

While other electronic festivals focus on size, Kepotopival consciously goes in the other direction: a maximum of about 500 attendees, a distinctly familiar atmosphere, and a program philosophy that equally values dancing and community. The venue is Kepotopia, an event site in Teuchern (municipality of Hohenmölsen in Burgenlandkreis), just under an hour's drive south of Leipzig. The summer edition will take place from August 26th to 31st, 2026.

Three Floors, One Forest

Musically, the festival is spread across three carefully curated floors: Birkhain for Techno, House, and Trance, a classic open-air dance floor under birch trees; Psytopia for Psytrance, Progressive, Dark, and Hitech — the psychedelic corner of the festival; and Nest for Downtempo, Slow House, and IDM, a chill floor for arriving and unwinding. Over 80 DJs from the international scene will play continuously from Wednesday evening to Sunday afternoon.

More Than Just Music

What sets Kepotopival apart is its inclusive concept: morning yoga sessions, handmade concerts (acoustic, without amplifiers), campfire jam sessions, flow arts workshops, fire performances. The KepOase offers a sauna, hot tub, and massages for relaxation between sets. A Kids-Space with its own childcare team makes the festival one of the few family festivals in the Psytrance scene — the eight-to-twelve-year-olds have their own experience here.

Sustainability as a Principle

Kepotopia sets strict standards: plastic-free, no photography on the dance floors (privacy of the dancers!), reusable systems, regional organic cuisine. The spirit is Free Tekno meets Burning Man, nestled in a quiet forest clearing landscape south of the Saale. Those who appreciate intimate, carefully organized electronic festivals will find themselves at home here — a hidden gem in the state of Saxony-Anhalt that has been gaining a growing fanbase for years.
