Club Life with Tradition

SG Grün-Weiß Döschwitz is one of the most traditional sports clubs in southern Saxony-Anhalt. Founded in 1930, the club currently fields five football teams — from U9 to seniors, men and women. Pentecost is the most important week of the year in the club's calendar: three days of tournaments, a family festival, catering, and a live atmosphere directly at the club grounds on Naumburger Strasse.

Pentecost is Cup Time

The Allianz Pfingst-Cup is the flagship event. In 2026, the 21st edition will take place on Pentecost Saturday, May 22, 2026, starting at 6:30 PM — an adult tournament that regularly brings together clubs from the Burgenlandkreis district and beyond. The sponsor is the Allianz agency of the family, hence the name. In addition, several youth Pentecost Cups (U10, U12, U14) will be held, and on Pentecost Monday, the traditional local tournament, where teams from the surrounding districts compete against each other — a classic that mobilises entire village communities.

Döschwitz and Kretzschau

Döschwitz has been a district of the municipality of Kretzschau in the Burgenlandkreis district since January 1, 2010. Its location between Naumburg, Zeitz, and Weißenfels makes the village a typical example of the landscape of the Saale region: village structures, active clubs, short distances. Pentecost tournaments like the Allianz Pfingst-Cup are more than just sports in this region — they are meeting points for families, friends, and residents, an important piece of club culture in the state of Saxony-Anhalt.

The Surrounding Atmosphere

During the tournaments, bratwurst and drink stands, often accompanied by DJ sets or live bands, create a lively atmosphere on site. The women's team of SG Döschwitz has also made a name for itself in recent years at the fun tournament in Kretzschau. The mood is relaxed, the level ambitious: this is where club football is lived.
