Advent Kick-off at Hankenhof
When the Sterntaler-Markt opens on the first weekend of Advent, the Advent season officially begins for Zetel. The Hankenhof β a historic farmstead in Zetel β and the adjacent Rondell transform into a festive Christmas backdrop.
Arts and Crafts and Specialties
Artisans present their Christmas products: ceramics, woodwork, jewelry, candles, textiles. Food stalls offer mulled wine, bratwurst, potato pancakes, gingerbread, and sweets. The mix of crafts and culinary delights is typical of Frisian Christmas markets.
Light Figures and Illumination
Light figures β stars, angels, fir trees made of light β create the right Advent atmosphere. The Hankenhof is fully illuminated, forming a fairytale backdrop for market visitors.
Fire Show
A fire show is one of the highlights, providing a warming spectacle on one of the two market days. Fire swords and fire dancing in the glow of the Christmas lights create an unforgettable moment.
St. Nicholas for the Children
St. Nicholas visits the market and distributes small gifts to the children, making the Sterntaler-Markt an important event for families with young children.
Dance School Performances
Local dance schools present their choreographies, bringing movement and energy to the market. Choirs and music associations also provide festive sounds.
