About Blaue Stunde

The Blaue Stunde is one of the most charming format events of the Koblenz Wine Festival. For four evenings in May and June, the area opposite the Rhein-Mosel-Halle transforms into a relaxed pop-up wine bar with picnic blankets, cozy lounge furniture, chill sounds, and selected festival wines such as Riesling, Spätburgunder, and Weinschorle. The name “Blaue Stunde” refers to the magical atmosphere shortly after sunset, when the sky turns deep blue and the wine bar transitions into the summer evening. Free admission.

The Blaue Stunde is a format created by the city of Koblenz as part of the Wine Festival to make wine culture accessible in a relaxed, urban setting. Instead of a classic wine festival, the Blaue Stunde focuses on a cozy bar atmosphere with lounge furniture and picnic blankets.

Concept

The event spans two two-day stages—one in May and one in June. On each of these evenings, the organizing team sets up the pop-up wine bar opposite the Rhein-Mosel-Halle. Selected festival wines—primarily Rieslings and summery white and rosé wines—are served in the Glas-Koblenz glasses. Chill sounds from the DJ booth, picnic blankets on the lawn, and comfortable lounge furniture invite guests to linger.

Location

The Rhein-Mosel-Halle is centrally located on the city border between the city center and the Konrad-Adenauer-Ufer and can be reached by bus from Koblenz Main Station in just a few minutes.

Glas-Koblenz

Instead of plastic cups, the wines are served in specially made Glas-Koblenz glasses for the Wine Festival (5 Euro deposit). The glass can be taken home as a souvenir.
