Karnevalsumzug Lünen-Süd 2026 — Neighborhood Carnival in the Ruhr Area

On Carnival Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 2:11 PM, the Karnevalsumzug Lünen-Süd will get underway. It's one of the most vibrant neighborhood festivals in southern Lünen — a carnival tradition that is part of the DNA of the Lünen-Süd residential area. Unlike the grand Rose Monday parades of the Rhenish strongholds, this parade takes place on Carnival Saturday — typical for many Ruhr Area carnival traditions, where the parade concentrates on the Saturday before Rose Monday.

Parade Route — Through the Lünen-Süd Residential Area

The parade starts at the Schützenhaus on Sedanstraße and follows a classic route through the neighborhood streets:

• Bebelstraße
• Jägerstraße
• Heinestraße
• Freiligrathstraße
• Hoffmannstraße
• Eichendorffstraße

Road closures begin at 12:15 PM and end at 5 PM. Jägerstraße between Bahnstraße and Saarbrücker Straße will remain closed afterwards until the evening, as the carnival after-party takes place at the Schützenhaus.
