Tip
Costumes are mandatory in the Bergisches Karneval tradition — Lennep Jecken can spot Karneval beginners immediately by their jeans. Heated tent means warm, but still wear layers; it can be bitterly cold outside in February if you take a break. Bring candy bags (or a plastic bag) for the Rose Monday parade.
Karneval in the Marquee at Lennep Station
The Lenneper Karneval is one of the biggest Karneval events in the Bergisches Land region — five days of programming from Altweiber to Rose Monday, all in a heated marquee on Robert-Schumacher-Straße right by Lennep Station. The 2026 motto: "Mit Herz dabei" — fitting for the tradition of a district that understands Karneval as a lived community.

Marquee Concept
The heated marquee with a heating system is a weather-proof Karneval location: no worries about cold February temperatures or rain. Stage, dance floor, bar area, and seating in one tent — a typical marquee Karneval setting.
Location at Lennep Station
The location on Robert-Schumacher-Straße directly at Lennep Station is ideal for transportation — short walk from the station, good connection to Karneval parades in the Bergisches Land. Lennep is one of the three districts of Remscheid and has its own Karneval tradition.
Karneval in the Bergisches Land
The Karneval in the Bergisches Land has its own character — between Rhenish merriment (Cologne/Düsseldorf) and Bergisches down-to-earthness. Lennep, Solingen-Ohligs, Wuppertal, and Remscheid-Lüttringhausen form a Karneval network with mutual visits and similar marquee concepts. The Lenneper Karneval is among the largest and has been the convivial Karneval hotspot in northern Remscheid for decades.
Organizers and Participants
Behind the marquee is the association Karneval in Lennep e.V., which sets up the tent, compiles the program, and coordinates the Karneval events in Lennep. The association is supported by the Fallschirmclub Remscheid (Remscheid Parachute Club), the Büchereifreunde Lennep (Friends of the Lennep Library), and the Schule für Musik, Theater & Tanz (School for Music, Theater & Dance), which enrich the program between headliners with performances and dance group acts.
