An Evening Market for the Whole Family
The evening market series “Jüchen schmeckt” is one of the newest event formats in the Lower Rhine town of Jüchen. After a successful debut in 2025, the town is continuing the format in 2026: Four Thursdays between May and September will transform the central Jüchen Market Square into an open street food and meeting hub.
Dates 2026
The four dates are spread throughout the warm season — each from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM:
- Tuesday, May 5, 2026 — Season Opener
- Tuesday, June 9, 2026 — Summer Edition
- Tuesday, July 7, 2026 — High Summer
- Tuesday, September 1, 2026 — Late Summer (supported by NEW AG)
The Concept: Streetfood, Drinks, Music
At each event, food trucks and drink stands will set up, offering a mix of regional Lower Rhine specialties and international cuisine (burgers, street food classics, desserts). Plus cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages. Cozy seating with tables, fairy lights, and decorations will create an after-work atmosphere. The event will be accompanied by live music on a small stage — singer-songwriters, cover bands, local artists.
The Organizers
The series is curated by Marc Pesch and Dustin Thissen, in close coordination with the town of Jüchen and its economic development agency (Carolin Voigt). Economic development officer Voigt emphasizes that the markets “enrich the leisure offerings and social interaction” — they are explicitly intended as a meeting point for citizens and local businesses.
