100 Years Sports Shooting Border District Vohenstrauß

With the Jubilee and District Shooting Sports Competition 2026, the Sports Shooting Border District 1926 Vohenstrauß is celebrating its centenary. For the first time in its history, the Border District is hosting the combined District and Regional Shooting Competition itself – a special moment for the shooting family of the northern Upper Palatinate.

Venue: Waldthurn Shooting Range

The competition will take place at the shooting range of SV 1956 Waldthurn, the shooting range in Waldthurn. The market town of Waldthurn is located in the district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab in the state of Bavaria, near the Czech border – a region with deeply rooted shooting traditions.

Competition and Awards

The competition includes several combined shooting events with various awards: a "Schmankerlscheibe" (a special target with regional delicacies as prizes), memorial targets in honor of deceased members, a new light air rifle program for young shooters, and cash prizes for participating youth teams. The participation period extends until May 16, 2026. District Shooting Master Johann Kellner and Regional Shooting Master Harald Frischholz are responsible.

Awards Ceremony and District King Proclamation

The festive conclusion will be the awards ceremony on Sunday, June 21, 2026, starting at 2:30 PM, in a garden party atmosphere. The highlight will be the proclamation of the District King, where the best shooters of the Border District will be crowned.
