The cycling tour 'Dötlingen Discover Dötlingen' is a lovingly designed event by the Civic and Heritage Association Dötlingen e.V. It combines physical activity with local history, offering an opportunity to get to know your own municipality from an unusual perspective. It's an ideal introduction to village life for new residents and a chance for long-time inhabitants to connect familiar places with new stories.

Route through the Wildeshausen Geest

The route takes about five hours through the municipality of Dötlingen and its districts such as Aschenstedt, Brettorf, Iserloy, Neerstedt, Ostrittrum, and other scattered settlements. Characteristic features include historic farm oaks, the typical hedgerows of the Wildeshausen Geest, and the proximity to the Hunte river. At selected stops along the route, participants will pause for breaks, explanations, or small refreshments.

Heritage Association as Organizer

For decades, the Civic and Heritage Association Dötlingen e.V. has been one of the most important cultural players in the municipality. It preserves customs, cares for historical buildings and sites, organizes heritage evenings, and is committed to conveying local history.
