92 Years of the Eiche Volunteer Fire Brigade
The Eiche Volunteer Fire Brigade has existed since 1934 and is today one of the local brigades of the municipality of Ahrensfelde in the Barnim district. Eiche is a district of the sprawling municipality located in the northeastern Berlin metropolitan area — directly on the outskirts of Berlin. The planned 90th anniversary in 2024 was postponed for organizational reasons and will be celebrated in 2026 as a '90+2 Years' celebration.
Festival at the FF Fire Station
The anniversary festival will take place as a two-day festival weekend on June 12 and 13, 2026, in the Eiche fire station courtyard. Fire brigade demonstrations — from historical pumps and breathing apparatus exercises to large vehicle operations — provide insights into the work of the brigade. There will also be a family and children's program, a water cannon for the youngest guests, and a bouncy castle.
Stage Program and Dance Evening
Dance groups, club contributions, and live music will alternate on the festival stage. Saturday evening features the traditional dance evening with a cover band or DJ — a standard program for Brandenburg fire brigade festivals, which makes the community of the brigade and the village clubs visible.
Catering by Local Clubs
The firefighters and the clubs of the municipality will handle the catering: Bratwurst, Schnitzel, fries, beer, non-alcoholic drinks, coffee, and cake from the village women's bakeries. Thus, the festival, in addition to its festive character, is also an important source of income for the youth work of the FF.
Ahrensfelde in the Berlin Metropolitan Area
Ahrensfelde belongs to the Barnim district and borders directly on the Berlin city area (Marzahn-Hellersdorf). The municipality consists of several districts — Ahrensfelde, Blumberg, Eiche, Lindenberg, and Mehrow — and is one of the fastest-growing municipalities in the Brandenburg Berlin surrounding area. The festival in Eiche thus simultaneously represents the preservation of rural traditions in a rapidly changing region.
