The setting is extraordinary — the Frauenstein castle ruins, one of the most impressive architectural monuments in the Osterzgebirge, majestically towers over the small town. Dealers and showmen set up their stalls on the castle hill and surrounding squares — a magnet for visitors from all over the Erzgebirge for generations.

What's at the Market?

The market combines several worlds: On one hand, classic market vendors offering food, regional specialties (Pulsnitzer Pfefferkuchen, Saxon sausages), tools, textiles, and household goods. On the other hand, a lively antique and flea market — a mix of real treasures and charming knick-knacks. Plus, showmen with small rides for children, bratwurst stands, mulled wine and drink stands, and everywhere the typical smell of charcoal and candied almonds.
