The InselKonzerte combine the idyllic charm of Herreninsel in the Chiemsee with the expressiveness of chamber music. International soloists and ensembles, under the artistic direction of pianist Mona Asuka, present a concert series from May to October in the historic library hall of the Augustinian Provostry. Arrival by boat across the Chiemsee and the unique atmosphere of the monastery library make every concert a special experience in the Chiemgau region.

The 2026 season of the InselKonzerte comprises seven concerts between May and October, each at 3 PM in the library hall of the Provostry. Featuring: German Tcakulov & Mona Asuka, the Amelio Trio, Cuarteto SolTango, Julian Prégardien, and a chamber ensemble around Mona Asuka.

The InselKonzerte 2026 feature seven concerts between May and October 2026, each at 3:00 PM in the library hall of the Augustinian Provostry. Dates: May 31 – German Tcakulov (Viola) & Mona Asuka (Piano) with Bach, Schubert, Brahms, Reger; June 21 – Amelio Trio (Haydn, Ives, Brahms); August 9 – Cuarteto SolTango (Tango); August 16 – Julian Prégardien (Vocals), Andreas Heise (Choreography), Daniel Arkadij Gerzenberg (Piano); September 20 and 27 – Programs with Schubert as well as Dvořák, Brahms, and Bartók; October 25 – Thomas Reif (Violin), Luke Turrell (Viola), Raphael Paratore (Cello) & Mona Asuka. Getting There

By train to Prien am Chiemsee, then take the Chiemsee ferry to Herreninsel (separate boat tickets, group rates available). By car via the A8 (exit Bernau or Prien).

Chamber Music on Herreninsel

The InselKonzerte – Chamber Music on Herrenchiemsee is a renowned concert series in the Rosenheim district (Upper Bavaria). The venue is the historic library hall of the Augustinian Provostry on Herreninsel in the Chiemsee – a unique space that gives the festival its special character. Since 2025, the artistic direction has been held by pianist Mona Asuka.

Program and Artists

International soloists and ensembles perform throughout the season from May to October. The repertoire spans a wide range from Bach, Haydn, Schubert, and Brahms to Reger and Dvořák, and on to Bartók, Kodály, and contemporary programs. Cross-genre formats such as tango (Cuarteto SolTango) and choreographed song programs are also on the schedule.

Arrival by Boat

Herreninsel can only be reached by boat – the crossing over the Chiemsee is part of the concert experience. The series is supported by the association »Freunde der Inselkonzerte auf Herrenchiemsee e.V.«, with organizational support from the Prien Ticket Office.

A Special Atmosphere

The combination of baroque monastery architecture, the tranquility of the island, and high-caliber chamber music makes the InselKonzerte a cultural highlight of the Chiemsee region, attracting music lovers from all over Bavaria and Munich.
