Summer Festival on the Bavarian Sea
The Seefest of the Wasserwacht Prien takes place at the Prienavera lido – directly on the shores of the Chiemsee, which is also called the "Bavarian Sea" due to its size. The tradition dates back to 1983, when the new Wasserwacht rescue station was inaugurated.
Program on the Lakeshore
In the afternoon, the children's program starts with face painting and a bouncy castle, along with coffee and cake. In the evening, live music – for example, from the Reit im Winkler Musikanten – creates a great atmosphere, while illuminated water shows and a bar round off the festival. The Wasserwacht offers refreshments and delicacies all day long.
Commitment to Water Rescue
The organizer is the Förderverein der Wasserwacht Prien-Rimsting. The proceeds from the festival go towards the voluntary work of the Wasserwacht, which ensures safety in and on the water at the Chiemsee. The festival makes this commitment publicly visible.

The 2026 edition of the Seefest of the Wasserwacht Prien is scheduled for Saturday, July 11, 2026, starting at 5:00 PM at the Prienavera lido. The organizer is the Förderverein der Wasserwacht Prien-Rimsting.

Getting there
Prien am Chiemsee is located on the A8 motorway (Munich–Salzburg) and on the Munich–Salzburg railway line (Prien station). The Prienavera lido can be reached by the Chiemseebahn (Chiemsee Railway) or on foot from the town center.
Admission
Admission from 6:00 PM costs €4 (advantageous price for early arrivals: one liter of beer for €4). The afternoon program with children's activities is freely accessible.
Tip
Arrive early to secure a good spot with a lake view and the advantageous beer price. The illuminated water shows in the evening are the visual highlight.
