UNNA ROCKT! — The Anniversary on the Platz der Kulturen

The UNNA ROCKT! series celebrates its 10th edition in 2026: On Saturday, August 8, 2026, the Platz der Kulturen at Unna's Lindenbrauerei will transform into an open-air stage for two of Central Europe's most in-demand tribute bands. Doors open at 5 PM, show starts at 6 PM. A format that has become a Sauerland fixture for rock and alternative fans over ten years — standing room under the open sky, Lindenbrauerei beer at the bar, big hits in faithful interpretations.

Program — Linkin Park Meets Red Hot Chili Peppers

The 10th edition features two bands honoring their idols with different concepts:

One Step Closer — Concept Chester meets Emily — FROM 2000 to ZERO

The tribute band One Step Closer is dedicated to the work of Linkin Park — covering both the Chester Bennington era from the debut Hybrid Theory (2000) onwards and the new Linkin Park phase with singer Emily Armstrong. The concept program From 2000 to Zero spans the band's entire catalog: In the End, Numb, Crawling, One Step Closer, Faint — supplemented by material from the comeback phase.

Funky Monks — The Red Hot Chili Peppers Tribute from Austria

The Funky Monks from Austria (four-piece band) bring the funk-rock repertoire of the Red Hot Chili Peppers to the stage. Under the Bridge, Californication, Scar Tissue, Can't Stop, Otherside — the Californian funk energy, transferred to the Central European stage. The band is one of the most established RHCP tribute acts in the German-speaking world.

Lindenbrauerei — Unna's Cultural and Communication Center

The venue is the Lindenbrauerei Cultural and Communication Center in Unna. The historic brewery was founded in 1859 and operated as a brewery until 1979 — since the 1980s, it has been one of the most important socio-cultural centers in North Rhine-Westphalia. Concerts, theater, art projects, exhibitions, and festivals shape its annual calendar. The Platz der Kulturen directly in front of the brewery complex serves as the open-air stage for summer events — UNNA ROCKT! is its musical flagship.

Unna — District Capital in the Eastern Ruhr Area

The city of Unna is the administrative seat of the Kreis Unna district and is located on the eastern edge of the Ruhr area, at the transition to the Sauerland and the Westphalian Hellweg. With around 58,000 inhabitants, it is a medium-sized city but culturally disproportionately active — the Light Art Collection in the Center for International Light Art, the Hellweg Museum, and the Lindenbrauerei make Unna one of the liveliest cultural locations in the region.
