About 150 Years KSV Fünfstetten

The Kameraden- und Soldatenverein Fünfstetten (KSV) is celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2026 — founded in 1876. To mark this occasion, a three-day anniversary festival will take place from May 22nd to 24th (Pentecost weekend) in the small Swabian municipality of Fünfstetten in the Donau-Ries district. The event is organized in cooperation with neighboring associations and the municipality. The program includes ceremonial acts, a parade, festival tent catering, and recollections of 150 years of club history — from its founding in the imperial era, through two world wars, to today's camaraderie.

Kameraden- und Soldatenvereine — a Bavarian Tradition

Kameraden- und Soldatenvereine (KSV) were founded throughout Bavaria in the 19th century after the German unification wars (1864, 1866, 1870/71) — mostly as associations of former soldiers who organized regular meetings, parades on Remembrance Days, and mutual camaraderie. Such an association was also founded in Fünfstetten in 1876, and it still exists today.

150 Years of Club History

Over 150 years of continuous existence mean a club history that has survived two world wars and is deeply rooted in the village social structure of Fünfstetten. Today, Kameraden- und Soldatenvereine focus less on old military culture and more on remembrance of the fallen and camaraderie among former Bundeswehr members and civilian members.
