Village festival in the Brohmer Mountains by Germany's northernmost reservoir
Brohm is a small district of the town of Friedland in the Mecklenburg Lake District (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern). The Brohmer Mountains and the neighbouring Helpter Mountains form one of the highest elevations in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and are popular with hikers, cyclists, and nature lovers as a cultural landscape with nature reserves, forests, and the Brohmer Talsperre β Germany's northernmost reservoir.
The organizer is the Brohm Playground Association, which maintains the village playground and organizes an open summer festival once a year. The festival takes place on the grounds around the playground and is an important meeting point for the village community and summer tourists from the region. Programmatically classic: a stage with live music, bratwurst and drink stands, a cake bazaar, a children's program, and convivial get-togethers.
Brohm is located about 10 km east of Friedland and 25 km southwest of Neubrandenburg. The best way to get there is by car via the L33; public transport is less developed in the region, with the nearest major train station being Friedland. The summer festival is open to everyone and is closely linked to the rural character of the Brohmer Mountains.
The ninth edition of the Brohmer Sommerfest continues the mix established in previous years: the festival grounds at the playground open in the early afternoon, with stations for children, a bratwurst and drink stand, homemade cake, and a stage for regional musicians. The focus is on community and relaxed get-togethers β a classic village festival that the small Brohm community organizes year after year.
Detailed program and artists will be published before the festival on the website brohmerberge.de/veranstaltungen as well as via notices in the village and in the neighboring towns of Friedland and Strasburg.
Specific artists and start times for the live stage will be announced by the Brohm Playground Association and the website of the Brohmer Berge cultural landscape.
Admission to the Brohmer Sommerfest is free. Food and drinks are paid for at the stands on-site at cost price or by donation; the proceeds go to the Brohm Playground Association and the maintenance of the village playground.
By car via Neubrandenburg, B197 towards Strasburg/Friedland, then turn off to Brohm. Parking is available on the outskirts of the village and at the playground.
Admission is traditionally free. Food and drinks are offered at stands on-site for a donation or at cost price.
Before or after the festival, a walk to the nearby Brohmer Talsperre or a climb to the Helpter Berg (179 m, one of the highest elevations in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) is recommended.
