Hoffest on the Mainzer Berg at the Menk Wine & Sparkling Wine Estate with award-winning wines, sparkling wines, cellar tour, and art exhibition.
Ingelheim am Rhein is known as a red wine town and has a long tradition of viticulture dating back to the Carolingian era. Today, several family-run wineries maintain this heritage and present their products in the popular series of Ingelheim Winery Festivals in the summer: on several weekends between June and August, the vintners open their courtyards and wine shops to the public.
The Menk Wine & Sparkling Wine Estate is located on the Mainzer Berg, a hill above Ingelheim, surrounded by orchards and vineyards. The location offers a wide, tranquil view over the Rhine floodplain, which is particularly striking on a summer evening. The winery has been family-run for generations and specializes in high-quality wines as well as hand-riddled sparkling wines produced using traditional bottle fermentation.
The Hoffest offers an exclusive insight into the world of the winery. In the courtyard, the wine shop, and on the terrace, the award-winning wines – Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Frühburgunder, and Cuvées – are available for tasting. Special attention should be paid to the sparkling wine range: Brut, Brut Nature, Rosé, and vintage sparkling wines, all produced by bottle fermentation.
The cellar tour is a regular part of the program: the winemaking family guides you through the cellar, explains the production processes for wine and sparkling wine, and shows the presses, the stainless steel and wooden barrels, the sparkling wine production area with riddling racks, and the storage rooms.
An art exhibition complements the cultural program and adds an extra dimension to the Hoffest beyond the wine. Food stalls with small dishes – tarte flambée, cheese platters, regional sausages, vegetarian options – provide culinary accompaniment.
Admission is free. The Hoffest is open to all interested parties and is aimed at wine lovers, visitors to Ingelheim, and guests from the Rhine-Main region.
The 2026 edition continues the successful concept of the Hoffest on the Mainzer Berg: open doors, award-winning wines and sparkling wines, cellar tour, art exhibition, and culinary accompaniment.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the Menk Winery in early summer. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years.
