ILE-Gäubodenlauf Oberschneiding

Seven Municipalities, One Run

The ILE-Gäubodenlauf is unique among Bavarian popular runs: it is jointly organized by seven municipalities in the Lower Bavarian region of Gäuboden, which have joined forces in the Integrierte Ländliche Entwicklung (ILE) Gäuboden. These municipalities are Aiterhofen, Feldkirchen, Irlbach, Leiblfing, Oberschneiding, Salching, and Straßkirchen. In 2026, the market town of Oberschneiding will host the run for the seventh time.

Five Distances for All Age Groups

The running concept is deliberately inclusive: five different distances allow participation for everyone from small children to ambitious hobby runners. Children run for free – a core concern of the organizer TSV Oberschneiding e.V. and ILE Gäuboden.

New in 2026: The Team Run

A new feature of the 7th edition is a team run designed to strengthen team spirit within the member municipalities. Clubs, companies, and groups of friends can participate in teams – a response to the desire for more community and experience-oriented hobby sports.

Showcasing Regional Strength

The organizers and member municipalities see the run as a platform to showcase the regional strength of the Gäuboden and to promote volunteer engagement. A portion of the proceeds benefits regional institutions.

Gäuboden – Lower Bavaria's Breadbasket

The Gäuboden is a fertile loess plain between the Danube and the Vorderer Bayerischer Wald, one of Bavaria's most productive agricultural areas. The ILE municipalities are all located in the district of Straubing-Bogen and shape rural life in Lower Bavaria with their folk festivals, farmers' markets, and sporting events.
